Going
Bald
Maybe it is
not all that nice but going bald is quite normal. The list of
all the possible causes is exceedingly long but it is a common
problem that affects millions of men, women, and children.
Although there are a number of fancy names for types of hair
loss, the correct medical term is Alopecia. The most common
type of going bald in men is genetic; known as male pattern
baldness, it affects close to 95 percent of
males.
However, it
may be that your diet needs attending to if your hair loss is
only moderate. The reason for your condition may be at your
work place if you deal with chemicals or cosmetics but some
others may as a consequence of personal situations such as
stress, mental tension or a hormonal imbalance. Please note
that if your hair follicles are undamaged then there is a good
chance that your condition may only be temporary; it is only
when the follicles are damaged that the problem can become
permanent. It is not, surprisingly, purely the domain of men as
many people think; in a America for example, up to forty in
every hundred cases are women.
In fact,
going bald is also common among women as they age although with
women a thyroid condition is one of the more common causes. It
is not just in America where four in every ten women will
suffer from it because this is a global figure for women by the
time they reach sixty. Another period where women may suffer
some hair loss that is not age related is during and after
pregnancy. Also surprisingly, it is not only men that suffer
with hereditary baldness because in the USA, around 30 million
women also suffer problem.
The best
solution if you have permanent hair loss is to have it
surgically restored and although a relatively new treatment has
achieved considerable success. It involves the process of
transplanting hair follicles from one area of the scalp to
another. Now the most common hair transplant treatment for men,
it is carried out as an out-patient basis under local
anesthetic. Facelift surgery can often leave scarring so many
women are using the same hair transplant treatment that men are
to disguise these scars; or when they have lost their hair for
other reasons.
It is
important to try and keep your appearance as close as possible
to your original when having hair transplant therapy and not
try to look like someone else. Health considerations should be
taken into account and addressed before hair transplant
treatment is carried out on anyone. Cosmetic Therapies cover a
broad spectrum of treatments but hair transplant therapy,
although lying within this same field, has aspects that are
completely different to other forms of cosmetic surgery.
Surgical hair transplant therapy might be your only solution if
all other methods have failed despite the fact that discoveries
in this field of going bald continues to
advance.
